Rainy day in downtown LA.

 (According to my Instagram - I'm @krittab!)

I love when it rains in LA, and secretly wish it rained more. I also love living in the middle of the city when it rains. Doesn't the cloudy haze make the city look as though it's disappearing? Finally, I love how my apartment looks in the city, when it rains; the overcast weather almost transfers itself into my little space. It's perfect for a cozy night with candles, take-out, and movies OnDemand. And obviously cuddling up with Nellie & Zigs.

iPhone Weekly.

Since I was sick most of this week, I decided to just browse the Internet for new blogs to read and eat way too much junk-type food. I know I've been slacking a bit on personal photos, which a bunch of the blogs I found this week had really proven, so here is a weekly wrap-up of my "sick week," purely from my iphone camera (oh, and two photos from Instagram).
Me & Nellie cuddling (on the floor)
Wendy's Number 6, large
Kombucha positivity
Me trying to mock Nellie's animated eyebrows (this makes me LOL)
Homemade fries
Hall's cough drop positivity
Too many pancakes..and more bacon
Ziggy looking like he's eating my face

Thin (& lovely) wedding bands.

This post may not be applicable to me now (or ever?), but I'm a total jewelry enthusiast--rings, in particular--so that's my excuse to talk wedding.

It's funny how we change as we get older. Years ago, I would have said that I wanted an obnoxiously large engagement ring that makes my left hand weigh down to my side, with an equally large band to match (think along the lines of Elizabeth Taylor's). I'm not sure when the turnaround happened, but I've seemed to become a bit more traditional and classic (and a bit less pompous), and have fallen in love with the idea of a super simple, ultra-thin wedding band.

I'm also a fan of things tiny and not-so-traditional, like these darling bands, below:

And I love the idea of subtly engraving the side or inside of the band, too. This ring simply says "loved" (swoon!). What are your thoughts? Would you wear a teeny wedding band?

1. Very thin wedding bands

2. Knottedrush ring

3. Urte solitare ring

4. Thin black diamond band (which I love - and you can also find on Overstock!)

Carly Rose Sonenclar (2nd follow-up).

I mean, really? Thirteen!? Can you believe the way she is able to connect to a song at such a young age?

Grown-up coloring books.

How hilarious is this Ryan Gosling coloring book? What a perfect holiday gift for a girlfriend: a hot man and some humor. (I also love the description: "the 'cool' colouring-book for good colouring-inners as well as beginners.")

The X Factor (USA).

Introducing Carly Rose Sonenclar, a future music legend:

I'm not usually one to watch TV music competitions (well, not since Making the Band went off air), but I was curious to watch Britney Spears as a judge--so I caved. And I'm happy I did, what a voice on this girl! I love that she sang Nina Simone, and that she chose the song herself. Can you believe she is only 13? (She has over 14 million views of her first audition!)

More Carly Rose.

Channing Tatum.

I'd like to take a moment and personally thank Channing Tatum--and his parents--for existing and creating his existence, respectively. And People and GQ for publishing said existence.

It's my birthday.

And you know when people always ask you if you feel older on your birthday? I kind of do...

Engaged- Myisa & Steve.

Myisa and Steve are two cool--and too cool--Los Angeles transplants who I was super excited to shoot this past weekend. They needed an equally cool setting that would both compliment their hip style and be a subtle nod to their new life in L.A., and LACMA was the perfect place.
I had such a cheeseball grin on my face for the entire time spent with these guys; I think I was actually smiling from inside out. With Steve's sweet and attentive demeanor toward Myisa, and her bright smile and too-cute-for-words-dimples, I just couldn't help it. And neither could everyone else, because I certainly was not the only one taking pictures of these two! They probably have all of the Internet swooning right now without even knowing it.
Myisa and Steve, I'm not even sure how to sum up the love that I was fortunate enough to witness and capture yesterday. You guys adore each other, and I adore you. Period.

Matching tattoos.

Yay or nay? I'm usually pretty gung ho about tattoos, but matching ones are a whole 'nother story.

Getting a tattoo is a pretty permanent decision as is, so you really want to be sure that whoever you are deciding to match is someone worth the (very permanent) reminder. (This also applies when you are getting a tattoo for someone--but more on that later.)

Here are some of my personal "please think before you ink" tattoo ideas:

Not liking your friend's boyfriend

I even Googled "What to do when you hate your friend's boyfriend" to look for helpful tips. (Okay, maybe that was a bit dramatic, but I was trying to overcome my frustration with the whole thing.)

It is such an internal battle to ask the standard "How are you two?" questions while you are secretly cringing after saying the word "two" and hoping her answer will be something like: "Oh, I realized it wasn't working out and we aren't together anymore." And it's not because you want your friend to wind up a spinster with too many cats; it's simply because you love her and want someone better for her. But how can you possibly say that without putting your friendship in jeopardy?
